Dead Sea Dream is a skincare brand rooted in the healing properties of natural Dead Sea minerals. We create a range of skincare, haircare and bodycare products designed to nourish sensitive and acne-prone skin. Our mission is to bring the healing benefits of the Dead Sea directly to your home, promoting overall wellbeing through effective and conscious skincare.
Who or what inspires you and your products?
My inspiration comes from my personal journey with acne and eczema. Struggling for years to find effective treatments, I discovered the incredible healing properties of Dead Sea minerals. This discovery sparked a deep passion to create products that not only heal but also empower others who have battled similar skin challenges.
How did you start your business?
I officially launched Dead Sea Dream in October 2022 after three years of research and development. The journey started with my own search for effective solutions to heal my skin. After personally experiencing the remarkable benefits of Dead Sea minerals, I felt compelled to share their transformative power with others. This inspiration led me to leave my finance career and devote myself entirely to creating a skincare line that embodies the healing potential of these natural elements. I dedicated several years to researching, formulating and perfecting our products before finally bringing Dead Sea Dream to life.
How did you choose the name of your business?
It was inspired by the dream of achieving healthy, radiant skin through the natural, time-honoured remedies found in the Dead Sea. It reflects both the origins of the ingredients and the aspirations we have for our customers’ skincare journeys.
What do you enjoy most about the creative process?
I love the formulation process – experimenting with different combinations of ingredients to find the perfect balance. There’s something incredibly rewarding about creating a product that you know will help someone feel better about their skin. I also enjoy the storytelling aspect, crafting a brand narrative that resonates with our mission and values.
What is the biggest challenge you've faced as a small business owner?
One of the biggest challenges has been building brand awareness in a competitive market. With so many skincare brands out there, it can be difficult to stand out and convey what makes Dead Sea Dream unique. However, staying true to our mission and consistently delivering quality has helped us build a loyal customer base.
What is your hero product or one that means the most to you and why?
Our Purifying Mineral Mud Mask is truly our hero product, and it holds a special place in my heart. This mask was the first product I developed after my transformative trip to the Dead Sea, and it has been instrumental in helping me manage my acne and eczema. Unlike many acne treatments that can dry out the skin or cause sensitivity, our mask heals acne-prone skin naturally, without harsh side–effects. I personally use it twice a week, and the positive feedback we’ve received from our customers echoes my own experience. It’s a powerful reminder of why I started Dead Sea Dream – to harness the gentle yet effective power of Dead Sea minerals and share it with others seeking a natural solution for their skin concerns.
What does a typical working day look like?
As a solo founder, no two days are the same. I oversee all aspects of Dead Sea Dream, from sales and marketing to operations and new product research and development. Whether I’m strategising our next marketing campaign, fine-tuning product formulations or managing day-to-day operations, each day is dynamic and full of opportunities to grow the brand and connect with our customers. I’m thankful to have a great marketing assistant and sales & operations manager to support me, making it possible to keep everything running smoothly as we continue to expand.
What tip (or tips) would you give anyone looking to start a small creative business?
My biggest tip is to stay true to your mission and get as much customer feedback as possible. The journey of starting a business can be challenging, but if you’re driven by a genuine desire to solve a problem or bring something unique to the world, that passion will sustain you through the ups and downs. Also, don’t underestimate the power of community – building relationships with your customers and fellow entrepreneurs can provide invaluable support and opportunities for growth.
