I make unique golden layering jewellery inspired by wanderlust and female empowerment. Blending modern day bohemia with everyday pieces, the jewellery is designed to inspire and help you curate your own style – made with meaning, to create meaning.
How did you start your business?
I was furloughed in lockdown and needed a hobby – my jewellery making started taking over the entire house so I decided to create a brand to market it and sell online – it’s snowballed from there.
How did you choose the name of your business?
I chose the name when I first started making jewellery as it represents the ‘coming together’ of many different things. From the literal formation of metals, to the formation of relationships, stories and history. It’s taken on many versions of visuals since then, but what you see now is where I feel most ‘me’ in my designs.
Who or what inspires you and your products?
My travels. Stories and symbology from exotic locations form the grounding for many of my pieces. I am also inspired by strong female characters in history.
What does a typical working day look like?
My mornings are slow. I focus on downtime and assessing the day ahead. I get into the studio around 11am and focus on admin tasks – then spend all afternoon making, packing orders, or creating visuals for the brand. I come alive in the evenings so am often found working late!
What do you enjoy most about the creative process?
Discovering new ways to create beautiful pieces – and happy accidents during the process. Designing new pieces and seeing people find connection with them makes me so happy.
What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced as a small business owner?
I am a creative mind through and through. The business and admin side of running the business has been a steep learning curve and I’m learning on the job!
What is your hero product or one that means the most to you and why?
The Galaxy Necklace was the first piece I designed for the brand four years ago and has a power that really draws people in – it’s been my best seller ever since.
What tip (or tips) would you give anyone looking to start a small creative business?
Don’t do it for anyone else or try to follow trends. Do what you love, what you feel for, and stay genuine – your people will find you.
