We’re Rye Chocolates. We make handmade single-origin chocolates in Rye East Sussex. Our chocolates are made using sustainably sourced ingredients. We create a wine range of flavours of bars, including some amazing seasonal flavours such as Mince Pie milk chocolate bar & Orange Whisky Marmalade dark chocolate bar.

How did you start your business?

We’ve always loved chocolate (who doesn’t?!). We realised we couldn’t find British chocolate which tasted good, didn’t have any nasty added ingredients and was unique. So we set out on a journey to learn to make only the best chocolate, sourced single-origin (each type of chocolate comes from a specific country – you can really taste the difference and purity).

What do you enjoy most about the creative process?

Getting to experiment with new flavours and find new combinations and pairings.

What is your hero product or one that means the most to you and why?

Salted caramel milk (cocoa from Venezuela) bar. With a soft centred filled with handmade salted caramel. We spent months finding the right balance of salted caramel and chocolate to create the perfect blend.

What tip (or tips) would you give anyone looking to start a small creative business?

Follow your passion – work as hard as you can to achieve your & just go for it!
