A Day in the Life: Maria Di Pasquale, Christmas Market Sales Manager

Date : 8-July-2026
Q: How does your day begin?

A: Without fail, with a double espresso. It’s my daily ritual and those first few quiet moments help me set the tone for the day ahead. I like to start with energy, focus and a sense of excitement about what’s to come.

Q: What do you love most about your job?
A: The people. I have the privilege of working with incredibly talented artisans and craftspeople who pour their skill, heritage and passion into every piece they create. Helping tell their stories and connecting their work with customers who genuinely appreciate craftsmanship is hugely rewarding.
Q: What do you look for when discovering new artisans?
A: Authenticity above all else. I’m always drawn to makers who have a genuine story to tell and a clear sense of purpose behind their work. Craftsmanship is essential, but I’m equally interested in the passion, heritage and personality that make their creations unique.
Q: How do you know when you've found something special?
A: It’s often an emotional reaction. The best pieces stop you in your tracks. Whether it’s a beautifully hand-thrown ceramic, a handwoven textile or an unexpected decorative detail, there’s usually a moment when you instantly know the maker has created something extraordinary.
Q: What inspires you throughout the festive season?
A: Seeing creativity everywhere. From beautifully decorated homes and winter markets to conversations with makers who are constantly innovating. Christmas has a wonderful way of bringing together tradition and creativity, and that’s incredibly inspiring.
Q: What does Christmas mean to you personally?

A: Connection. It’s a time to celebrate the people we care about, support talented makers and create traditions that bring joy year after year. That’s something I never take for granted.
